At Joy Academy Online, we believe that education is a shared calling between school and family. Parents are not only providers of learning conditions—they are spiritual mentors, life guides, and co-laborers in shaping the whole child. A student’s growth in character, faith, and wisdom is deeply influenced by the home environment. We ask parents to walk alongside their children with intentionally, modeling integrity, compassion, and a love for truth.
We encourage families to create a home culture that supports academic focus and spiritual formation. This includes setting aside quiet time for study, engaging in meaningful conversations, and nurturing habits of prayer, reflection, and service. Parents are invited to partner with teachers not only in monitoring progress, but in cultivating purpose. When students see consistency between home and school values, they flourish.
Family engagement is not measured by frequency of contact, but by depth of partnership. We welcome parents to communicate respectfully, support school policies, and seek resolution through the appropriate channels. Above all, we ask families to pray for their children, their teachers, and the school community, believing that true education begins with the heart.

Communication Expectations & Channels
At Joy Academy Online, we value transparent communication and active family engagement. Each semester, we host a Curriculum Night in Week 3 to introduce course offerings and teacher assignments. After midterm exams, parents are invited to a Parent Conference to review student progress reports. At the end of each semester, report cards are issued to summarize academic performance. Students and parents may log in to the Classe365 portal at any time to view grades, assignments, and feedback.
To support effective communication, Joy Academy Online has established a clear contact pathway. For academic questions, assignment clarification, or classroom concerns, the Course Teaching Assistant is the first point of contact. For broader questions about student well-being, learning habits, or bilingual support, families may reach out to the Bilingual Homeroom Teacher. If the issue involves curriculum alignment, grading policies, or instructional consistency, the Academic Director should be consulted. Matters involving school-wide policy, family concerns, or unresolved issues may be directed to the Student Life Director and the Principal.

Health, Safety & Privacy
At Joy Academy Online, the health, safety, and privacy of every student are foundational to our learning environment. While our virtual model reduces physical risks, we remain committed to supporting students’ emotional well-being, responding to emergencies, and protecting personal data.
Health Intake & Emergency Contact
Upon enrollment, families are required to submit a health intake form and emergency contact information. This ensures that in the event of a health-related concern—whether physical, emotional, or environmental—the school can promptly notify the appropriate guardian and assist in connecting the student with local support services.
Mental Health & Counseling
We recognize that online learning can present unique emotional challenges. Students have access to virtual counseling support and may request confidential check-ins with designated staff. Teachers and advisors are trained to identify signs of distress and refer students to appropriate resources. We encourage families to communicate openly with the school regarding any mental health concerns.

Joy Academy Online is committed to safeguarding student data in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). All academic records, communication logs, and personal information are stored securely and accessed only by authorized personnel.
